The MIA has a fantastic membership that has grown by a third in the last 2 years and covers suppliers, retailers and associated companies such as publishers. We are very proud to count these businesses as MIA members and are always seeking to increase membership in order to represent as many from our Industry as possible! Many of the heads of these companies sit on the MIA Council and its various Committees in order to fully represent the best interests of the Industry in all that the MIA does.We are pleased to welcome the following new members:
Red Dog Music is Edinburgh's newest, biggest, friendliest independent music shop, stocking a wide range of guitars, basses, keyboards, PA, recording gear, accessories and colourful pets (though we haven't managed to source any of those yet).
June 2008 saw the birth of Reverb Retail Ltd. Following the closure of 26 Sound Control stores, a leading figure in the Music industry, decided to create a new style of retail chain. 6 stores were purchased and the Reverb Revolution began. 75 musicians work in the stores and aim to offer excellent service and knowledge to help customers make the right choice.
Heybrook Music is a new shop that recently started trading.
Haydock Music Ltd was established in 2002. The business is run and owned by Alistair Haydock who is himself a musician playing saxophone, clarinet and piano. The company has very strong links into the school education market servicing most of the UK which lets us know what the good products are in the current market place enabling good advice to be given to our customers.
Fusion Products Ltd is a new company with years of experience in the music industry and will be launching designer made musical instrument gig bags and accessories at Music China, in October.
Euromusic Ltd of Glasgow have joined as an Allied Trade Member.
Core Music Community Interest Company is an exciting venture in Tynedale established in 2007 and run by a board of directors. They are in the process of establishing a lively centre for music of all kinds, and to involve local people of any age and level of ability who want to take part in creating, playing or learning music and have a new shop.
